Congratulations to Tambra Hiser, our 2022-2023 directory photo contest winner with her stunning photo, “Kansas Sunset.” She captured the late-day image along 135th St. West just north of Clearwater.

Tambra moved to Clearwater in 2008 with her family and quickly fell in love with the community as well as the beautiful blue skies. “I think Clearwater has the best sunsets. You just find openness everywhere, no powerlines. It’s uniquely beautiful and gives you peace,” she said.

As a hairstylist and makeup artist, Tambra says she often takes before and after photos of her clients, however, she’s only been taking nature photos about two years. “A few years ago, I was at Prairie Hill Vineyard and noticed how amazing the property was and started taking pictures of it,” she said.

Her friends, family and clients have suggested she make a calendar and sell it, but Tambra explains that she “wants to share with the community” and feels this is one way she can give back.

“When I look at Clearwater and Viola as a whole, it’s like family. Everyone is so kind,” Tambra said.
