The Bartlett Arboretum’s 2021 Treehouse Concerts and Salons schedule has been published – featuring live music and other fun and educational events throughout this spring, summer, and fall.
Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Bartlett Arboretum is located at 301 N. Line in Belle Plaine, Kan. As one of the oldest arboretums between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains, this unique, century-old sanctuary, with two bridges crossing the Euphrates Creek, is home to state champion trees, beautiful terraced gardens, and wildlife.
The 2021 season launched in a big way the first weekend of April with “Art at the Arb” as part of Belle Plaine’s annual spring celebration event. The arboretum’s 40,000 tulips showed up in a spectacular way.
The Treehouse concerts, which feature live music from local, regional, and well-known artists, are generally on Sunday afternoons. The gates open at 3 p.m. and the music begins at 4 p.m. Tickets range in price from $10 to $20, with children free if kept “under wing” with their parents. Guests are invited to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds or a variety of food trucks are usually available onsite, as well. Season passes are $75, and include admission to all concerts, salons, and open days throughout the year!
This year’s season includes 14 concerts, ranging from jazz to bluegrass; two mosaics workshops, a Mother’s Day celebration with “free, freshly dug bulbs for all mums,” TreeFest – a perennial tradition celebrating agriculture, plus much more.
For 10 years now, SKT has been a proud sponsor of the Bartlett Arboretum’s Treehouse Concert and Salons. Besides being good for the soul, these events help sustain the arboretum – to keep it going and growing for another century. In addition, SKT is happy to provide free Wi-Fi coverage throughout the arboretum via two complimentary 100 Mbps connections, with a Managed Router for each one, plus a Mesh Wi-Fi Extender to reach the farthest corner of this enchanted wonderland.
