Megan Harper Recognized in Wichita Business Journal's Women Who Lead in Marketing

The Wichita Business Journal features top female professionals working in Marketing in the Wichita area. Director of Marketing and Sales, Megan Harper, was recognized for her work in helping to improve broadband access and digital equity in Kansas. Learn more about Megan and her career path.

What has been your career path?
My career started as a Wichita Eagle sports phone crew member and features intern, followed by marketing roles at major regional and statewide nonprofits – Greater Wichita YMCA and Goodwill Industries of Kansas. Highlights include public relations and major event planning that led to the successful opening of the Downtown and Andover YMCAs and expansion of Farha Sports Center and Camp Hyde. My work at Goodwill transformed the brand perception regionally and helped increase sales, transactions, and donations to support the mission. Today, I lead marketing and sales for SKT and now Twin Valley, together Kansas’ largest independently owned broadband and communications company. With revenue accountability for our growth areas, I developed our go-to-market plans, leading to key successes in new markets, improved brand recognition, and increased gigabit and managed WiFi adoption. I also developed our community pledge, broadband packages, and a new free internet program for low-income households, improving affordability and access to higher bandwidth for remote work, education, health care, and more. I am currently leading our rebrand and website redesign, to be unveiled soon. Now serving on the FlagshipKansas.Tech board, I helped organize the award-winning Ad Astra Technology Summit last year, and as vice chair, we’re bringing a tech icon to Kansas.

Who are your mentors and how have they influenced your career?
At the Y, Shelly Conrady helped me develop a well-rounded skillset and gave me the space to try and fail and try again. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her mentorship early in my career. More recently through Flagship, Luis Rodriguez recognized something in me that I didn’t see in myself. His mentorship has helped me grow exponentially and given me the confidence to shine as a marketer and leader.
