Klausmeyer Dairy Farm & Pumpkin Patch Thrives With New SKT Wireless High-speed Internet

Skt News Article October 2018 Klausmeyer Dairy Farm Pumpkin Patch Family

Born and raised on farms, David and Debbie Klausmeyer have a love of farming that runs deep. Their passion for sharing that love, combined with smart business decisions, has grown their dairy farm into a thriving regional attraction. The Klausmeyer Dairy Farm & Pumpkin Patch attracts thousands of people every year. A key to driving that success has been access to reliable, high-speed internet.

“SKT has helped tremendously with the growth of our business – through great customer service and determining which Wi-Fi accessibility program works best for our small business,” Debbie said. “It is always super-fast processing, which makes us and our customers very, very happy.”

The Klausmeyers participated in a beta test for a new SKT product, a point-to-point wireless high-speed Internet service. Available at speeds up to 100 Mbps, it’s been so successful that it is being offered to select customers in rural areas north and northwest of Clearwater. Contact SKT at 888.758.8976 to learn more.

How It All Started

A former school bus driver, Debbie would take busloads of students out to Gary Duncan’s rural Clearwater farm. Duncan, who has since passed away, would welcome the school groups onto his property, and she fondly remembers how much joy it brought the children to learn and explore.

Later, as the Klausmeyer family grew – they’re the parents of six and grandparents of 14 – they began to get requests from teachers to visit their dairy farm. Being a business-minded person, Debbie realized that by opening their doors to the public, they could help support their farm AND help educate guests about dairy farming. In 2005, school field trips, birthday parties, and family groups began visiting in earnest.

More Than a Dairy Farm

Today, the Klausmeyers not only educate their guests about dairy farming, they also have a pumpkin patch, 5-acre corn maze, paintball, pig races, petting zoo, cotton and corn pits, jumping pillow, playground and sand pile, hay ride wagon, barrel train rides, campfires, picnic tables, fossil and gem mining, and much more – including fabulous photo opportunities.

With the power of social media, those photo opportunities helped double their traffic this year. How? With a field of sunflowers. Their road was often packed this fall with cars as folks were invited to take pictures among the field of endless sunflowers at no cost. Social media and sunflowers turned out to be a brilliant new combo for the Klausmeyer Dairy Farm & Pumpkin Patch.

The Klausmeyers rely heavily on their Internet for day-to-day operations, not just for social media. October is an especially busy month. With the point-to-point wireless Internet from SKT, they use multiple devices at once, including a smart TV and several computers, laptops, and tablets. They accept customer payments using the Square app on tablets outside, with one at the ticket booth, and one at the concession trailer.

“Simultaneously, someone is always using the Internet inside the house as well, whether that be for ordering supplies, online bulk food orders for our concessions, doing social media work, or sending and responding to teachers for scheduling school field trips,” Debbie added.

The consistent and reliable Internet service has allowed the Klausmeyer Dairy Farm & Pumpkin Patch to focus on what’s most important – sharing a love of farming and creating a fun, educational atmosphere for their guests.
