Twin Valley has committed to bringing their state-of-the-art fiber network with 2 Gbps symmetrical speeds to Junction City’s 22,000 residents.
Twin Valley has begun installations in Phase 2 of its Junction City fiber expansion project, making progress on its commitment to bring fiber to the community’s 22,000 residents. The main construction in Phase 2 has been completed ahead of schedule, and the company is now offering fiber internet to more than 1,000 homes and businesses in Junction City.
That number will more than double with Phases 3-4, previously slated for 2023 and now on the schedule for construction to begin this fall. Phase 3 is located along north Washington and Phase 4 is west of Phase 2. For an interactive map, visit twinvalley.net/jcfiber.
Junction City is among the first in the nation to receive 2 Gbps symmetrical internet speeds. Additionally, they join a growing national list of Smart Connected Communities, an initiative of NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association which promotes broadband networks and broadband-enabled applications that communities can leverage to foster innovative economic development, education, health care and other vital services.
“Thanks to our technicians, construction and engineering partners, and the support of the community, we are ahead of schedule with the current phase of our Junction City fiber expansion project,” Twin Valley VP of Operations Scott Leitzel said. “Our crews will be fully moved on to Phase 3 in the coming weeks, so residents in Phase 2 should contact us soon to reduce the potential wait time.”
Those outside the current build zones can influence Twin Valley’s next phases by submitting a form at twinvalley.net/jcfiber. Submissions will help identify the areas of greatest demand.
Twin Valley’s multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds give individuals and families the bandwidth to handle all their online activities without any slowdowns, including working from home, completing online coursework, streaming TV, online gaming, accessing telehealth, and more. Fiber gives businesses the bandwidth to quickly store and access information in the cloud, connect with remote employees and clients through video calls, maintain their online presence through websites and social media, and more.
Twin Valley offers simple pricing, and no contract is required for residential service. Unlimited data and free installation are included, and plans start under $50 for 300 Mbps symmetrical. The company also offers financial assistance for internet service, including the federal Lifeline and Affordable Connectivity programs. With qualifying ACP application, Twin Valley residential fiber customers can get free internet service. Information about these programs is available at twinvalley.net/assistance.
The increased demand for broadband and unprecedented federal funding for fiber expansion has led to supply chain issues in the industry. The timeline is subject to change based upon the availability of equipment and fiber optic cable. Updates will be provided online at twinvalley.net/jcfiber.
