Status of the Affordable Connectivity Program

ACP program participants will receive the following communication dated January 22, 2024, by mail regarding anticipated changes to the program:

Due to lack of funding, the FCC has announced steps to wind down the federal Affordable Connectivity Program.

You are receiving this notice because your household is enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a government program that provides up to a $30 monthly discount toward your internet service. In addition, ACP-qualified households receive an additional discount provided by the Twin Valley Financial Assistance Program. These discounts are reflected on your monthly bill. Because the ACP program is expected to run out of funding in April, your benefits may be ending soon.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced on January 11, 2024, that the ACP will only be able to provide discounts to enrolled households through April of this year, unless the program receives more funding. Because ACP is the pre-qualifier for the Twin Valley Financial Assistance Program, the future of our free internet program depends upon the status of the ACP program. This change affects everyone currently enrolled.

A federal bill to extend funding is currently being considered, and we are advocating for approval of this funding alongside our local, state and national industry partners. If action is not taken by Congress to extend funding, the ACP and Twin Valley benefits will be removed from your account effective on your May 2024 bill. You will be subject to our standard, undiscounted rates if the ACP ends and you choose to keep your internet service or move to a different internet package. You may qualify for other financial assistance programs, and our team is available to support you through this transition.

Updated to add: Per FCC guidelines, we are under an enrollment freeze beginning February 8, 2024, and we are not accepting new enrollments for ACP pending further action by Congress. You may qualify for other programs. Contact us for details.
