A Big Truck Night In Clearwater

April 16, 2019

It was a BIG Truck Night in Clearwater! Monday, April 8, the Clearwater PTO hosted their 4th annual “Trucks on Clearwater” event from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clearwater High School parking lot. SKT employees Cole Richardson and Todd Dannenberg were happy to join in the experience with the SKT bucket truck.

As has been the case for the previous three years, the weather was gorgeous this year – which may have accounted for the large turnout of around 400 people.

Erin Bettles, PTO President, got the idea from the Maize Parents as Teachers (PAT) program. When the Bettles family moved to Clearwater, Erin brought the idea with her, thinking it would be a great free, family event to do in Clearwater. Of this year’s huge success, Erin says, “Small businesses, groups, and companies were willing to be there to support this community event – and Clearwater High School has been great to allow it to be held in their parking lot.”

Having the local food truck, “Grubb Hubb” on location, along with ensuring a “horn-free” experience from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. also worked very well this year. Erin added that getting to see the cute little children interacting with the “big, tough truck drivers” (who are really great guys) was something one doesn’t get to see very often! It was fun.
